Bill Aron
Represented by Pucker Gallery since 1976
BORN: 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
RESIDES: Los Angeles, California
Bill Aron has been long known for his environmental portraits and visual chronicles of Jewish communities throughout the world. Major museums and galleries in both the United States and Israel have exhibited Aron's photography, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Chicago Art Institute, the Jewish Museum in New York City, the Mississippi Museum of Art, and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Aron's presence in his photos is lodged more in an intimate attachment to his subjects than in an interest with formal, painterly arrangements or color concerns. Transcending beauty, his photographs are remembrances, recordings, and investigations of a world that he makes his own. Aron currently teaches at the New Community Jewish High School in West Hills, California.
