Pucker Gallery Artist Tomoo Hamada, Isaka International Limited Gallery Director Koi Isaka, Scholar and Professor Andrew Maske, and Pucker Gallery Director Bernie Pucker, with the aid of friend and translator Mugi Hanao met for a lively discussion on the opportunity and the challenge of Mingei tradition in 2021. In addition to our discussion we shared a private tour of the Shoji Hamada Memorial Mashiko Sankokan Museum and up close looks at significant works by the Hamada family.

The exhibition Root & Branches: Three Generations of the Hamada Family will be on view at Pucker Gallery from 5 June through 11 July 2021.
